Max Verstappen slammed Charles Leclerc over "unfair" moves a decade before petulantly hitting out at the Ferrari driver once again.Verstappen lost his cool at Leclerc during the closing stages of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix on Sunday.
After he passed his title rival with four laps remaining, a yellow flag allowed the Monegasque racer to close the gap.That infuriated the Dutchman, who, not for the first time in the race, hopped on the radio to complain. "That's so unfair," he moaned as Leclerc made an unsuccessful attempt to retake the lead.
Verstappen clung on to claim his first win of the season - but old footage has now emerged of the 24-year-old making a similar complaint against Leclerc during their go-karting days.The clip, filmed after round two of the 2012 WSK Euro Series, sees Verstappen furious with Leclerc for a move during the race. "It's just unfair," Verstappen begins, foreshadowing his complaints from the Middle East at the weekend."I'm leading, he [Leclerc] wants to pass, he pushes me, I push him back, and after, he pushes me off the track.
It's not fair," Verstappen concludes. The interviewer then sounds out Leclerc, who offers a different interpretation of events.Asked what happened with Verstappen, the young Monegasque replies: "Nothing, just an incident in the race." The F1 title contender provided a similarly chilled view after the race on Sunday. "I knew my weakness was straight-line speed compared to the Red Bull’s,” said Leclerc, talking to Sky Sports F1. "It worked once and then the second time he understood so he braked very early.
