Mauricio Pochettino reportedly rejected the opportunity to become new Monaco manager as the former Tottenham boss eyes a return to management.
The Argentine has been out out of the dugout since leaving Spurs earlier this season to be replaced by Jose Mourinho. Monaco sacked Robert Moreno over the weekend, the fourth boss they have axed in the last two years, with former Bayern Munich manager Niko Kovac succeeding him.
However, according to The Athletic, Kovac was not the first choice of the Principality club. Newly-appointed sporting director Paul Mitchell reportedly approached Pochettino and offered him the job, only to be rebuffed.
