Market Street and Shudehill Metrolink stops to close for nine days in August

Two city centre Metrolink stations are set to close for nine days in August while maintenance work takes place.The Market Street and Shudehill stops will close from Saturday, August 8 to Sunday, August 16.Services will not run between Victoria and Piccadilly Gardens while the closure is in place, but services between St Peter's Square and Piccadilly Gardens will continue.The work is set to take place on the corner of the High Street and Market Street, outside of Debenhams, but access to businesses will not be affeted.Transport for Greater Manchester’s Head of Metrolink Danny Vaughan said: “To minimise any impact on our customers, we will undertake these works before schools return fully in September and more and more people return to.
