Manchester United have received approval to trial rail seating at Old Trafford next season. Trafford council has granted United permission to install 1,500 seats in the J Stand section - located in the lower north-east section of the stadium - in time for the 2020-21 campaign.
If the trial is successful, United will consider installing rail seating in other areas of Old Trafford in an attempt to amplify the atmosphere in British club football's second largest stadium.
