Manchester gang stole high-performance Fiat 500s from across Cheshire

For the latest Stockport news sign up to the MyStockport newsletter here A Manchester-based gang of car thieves went on a two-year spree across Cheshire targeting a high-performance version of the Fiat 500.

They stole at least 19 of the vehicles - mainly the Abarth 500, a hot hatchback type of the iconic Italian city car. Now three men have been jailed.

Alan Dunwoody, 38, of Pewsey Road, Wythenshawe; and Mark Strutt, 42, of Glebe Street, Stockport, were both sentenced to four years in prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit burglary and conspiracy to steal.

Ryan Dunwoody, 35, of HMP Wymott, Lancashire, was handed a 22 month custodial sentence after admitting theft of a motor vehicle.
