Manchester United star Phil Jones has received an apology from Twitter over a post that has since been deleted.The Red Devils defender was the subject of a post from Twitter’s official account that appeared to mock him, asking: “Name a better footballer than Phil Jones.”It received hundreds of likes and retweets within hours of being posted on Tuesday night.And United complained to the social media site the following day, seeing the post deleted.A Twitter spokesperson said: "Our aim was to showcase our new product feature, conversation controls, which allows you to select who can reply to a Tweet.“It was not our intention to cause upset and once we realised our mistake, we immediately deleted the Tweet.”Jones has seen his United career.
