Manchester United fans have called for interim manager Ralf Rangnick to roll the dice and play Alejandro Garnacho for the remainder of the season. It is no secret that the Red Devils have struggled so far this season, so much so that their hopes of finishing in the Champions League places are now gone and they will have to settle for a lesser European competition next season.
Though there is no guarantee that they will qualify for those competitions either. And with the season all but over and preparation beginning for the arrival of Erik ten Hag, United fans want to see youngsters given the opportunity to impress at Old Trafford.
Spanish youngster Garnacho was on the scoresheet for the United Under-23s on Sunday in their 3-1 defeat to Liverpool Under-23s.Garnacho raced in behind the Liverpool defence before lifting a cute finish over the goalkeeper to round off what has been a memorable week for the 17-year-old.
The goal showcased the pace, energy and composure that Rangnick’s side has lacked for a lot of this season, and many are calling for the former Atletico Madrid forward to be handed his first start for the club. But with United taking on Brentford on Monday night, it is somewhat unlikely that his first start is right around the corner.
