Manchester United cult icon Kleberson reckons Erling Haaland is "better off" at Manchester City and wants his old club to now target Benfica hotshot Darwin Nunez.
United missed out on the chance to sign Haaland when he was at RB Salzburg, with then-manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer keen to bring the forward who he managed at Molde to Old Trafford.
Like any super club, the 13-time Premier League champions always retained an interest in the Norwegian superstar, but Haaland opted to join United's great rivals City in a deal announced on Monday afternoon.Former Red Devils star Kleberson isn't surprised the 21-year-old chose to go to the Etihad and thinks he's better off under the tutelage of Pep Guardiola while his old club continue to figure things out both on and off the pitch.
Speaking to Paddy Power, the retired Samba star said: "Erling Haaland is a top player and a top goal scorer. Big clubs in Europe were fighting for him because his numbers are amazing and it’s important to have a player like him in your team."The way Manchester City play under Pep Guardiola is a better option for Haaland than Manchester United.
