Erik ten Hag makes Manchester United manager job admission after rejecting 'better' offers

Erik ten Hag has claimed he rejected 'better' management offers before accepting the Manchester United job. Although the Eredivisie came to an end this weekend, Ralf Rangnick will take charge of United's final match of the season against Crystal Palace.

United sources say Ten Hag is already engaged with the club on planning for pre-season and next season, though. That means Ten Hag's arrival at United is now imminent, but speaking this weekend, the Dutchman revealed that he actually received other offers before being named as Rangnick's permanent successor.

Ten Hag was linked to RB Leipzig before being appointed at Old Trafford last month, but it's thought those links were used to increase the Dutchman's power in talks with United. Ten Hag has now confirmed he had offers from 'different clubs' that had 'better foundations' than United. “I had choices to work at a different club, with a better foundation,” Ten Hag told De Telegraaf. "But I chose Man United.

Things have to get addressed there and that’s a challenge. The club and I are on the same wavelength about how I want to do this.” Ten Hag has joined United on a three-year contract with the opinion of an additional year.
