Phil Neville has claimed that if Manchester United can improve the structure of the club and allow Erik ten Hag to make some quality signings in the summer, the club could be just 12 months away from challenging Manchester City and Liverpool for the Premier League title.
Ten Hag is just weeks away from officially becoming United’s new manager, having had his appointment confirmed last month. The current Ajax boss is set to arrive at Old Trafford at the end of the season and he will have quite the task on his hands.
The 52-year-old will have to pick up the pieces of what has been a dire season at United, with a raft of players set to leave the club during the summer.
With no Champions League football next season, Ten Hag will have to begin rebuilding his side, with interim manager Ralf Rangnick suggesting it could take as many as 10 new signings to get the club back on track.
