Manchester United supporters have been venting their frustration after Ralf Rangnick revealed he was prevented from signing a striker in January.
Rangnick had hoped to bolster his frontline options in January and he even revealed the names of some of the players he had hoped to sign.
However, when the United boss told the club that a new attacker would be needed in their push for a top-four finish, the scouting department told him that there was no one available who would fit the team.
Speaking in Friday’s press conference, he said: "I think the board, meanwhile, sees it the same way - they agreed with me - but they also spoke to the scouting department at the time, maybe we should have signed, tried to sign, a player in those 48 hours once we knew Mason [Greenwood] wouldn't be available, once we knew that Anthony Martial had already left on loan.
