Premier League 's biggest stars face the threat of burnout after it was announced the new domestic season will start on September 12.
The current campaign will end on Sunday after it was suspended for three months because of the Covid-19 pandemic.The Premier League said it would 'continue to consult' with the Football Association and English Football League (EFL) 'regarding the scheduling of all domestic competitions'.But with the football calendar turned upside down because of the virus it means some stars could face almost continuous football for the next 14 months.
If Manchester City reach the Champions League final on May 23 in Lisbon it will leave them less than three weeks to prepare for the new domestic campaign.
