A long-haul flight on an aeroplane can be extremely uncomfortable but an upgraded seat can certainly make the lengthy journey much more enjoyable.

Many of us can't afford the luxury of a first class flight so extra legroom in economy seating is potentially the next best thing, the Mirror reports.

However, a couple who paid more for additional legroom on a 12-hour-flight were left in an awkward situation after an entitled elderly couple tried to claim the seats for their own.

The man took to Reddit to explain that he was given evil glares from fellow passengers after he refused to move out of the seats he had paid an extra $60 (£50) for.
