A man has died after a car plunged into Swansea Marina on Wednesday (August 30). The vehicle was fully submerged in the water and is believed to have entered the marina at around 10am.
South Wales Police said the death was being treated as unexplained and inquiries were ongoing, reports WalesOnline. Firefighters, with the help of a commercial diver, were able to lift the man from the submerged vehicle and said only one person was inside.
Detective Inspector Chris Evans said: “Emergency services attended, and a car was found fully submerged in the water. The body of a man was located in the car. The incident is ongoing whilst the car is being recovered.” The tragedy unfolded in a fully-pedestrianised and popular tourist spot right next to Wales’ National Waterfront Museum and the LC indoor waterpark.
