Billy Connolly 'scolded' Russell Brand over his inappropriate behaviour on set

Scottish icon Billy Connolly reportedly had a few harsh words for Russell Brand over his behaviour whilst on the set of a musical.

According to The Herald, The Big Yin scolded Brand, 48, whilst they were both in Los Angeles in 2012, on the set of Eric Idle’s musical ‘What About Dick?’ It was alleged that the Get Him to the Greek star sexually harassed a wardrobe assistant who was working on the musical.It was reported that a delay was caused on the first day of shooting as Brand allegedly pestered the member of staff to flash her breasts and refused to continue working until she did.Billy, 80, soon learned about the incident and had a go at the star for his inappropriate behaviour, according to the reports.

A source told The Sun: "It was just a bit of fun. Billy got annoyed when he found out and gave Russell a stern ticking off."Russell is a charming scoundrel and everybody let him get away with murder on set - except Billy.“But after their heart-to-heart he settled down and gave a great performance and filmed the scenes like a consummate professional."In 2020, a documentary aired on ITV about Connolly's incredible career and Brand hailed him as a "a true hero and pioneer” and “Glasgow’s finest trickster shaman”.Last week, Brand was accused of rape, sexual assault and emotional abuse at the height of his fame in an investigation by The Times and Channel 4 Dispatches.Four women are alleged to have come forward with claims, with the incidents taking place between 2006 and 2013 and the comedian has strenuously denied all allegations in a statement on his YouTube channel.
