Former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has admitted the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo felt right at the time but soon went wrong.
Ronaldo started his tenure back at Old Trafford in the best possible way with a brace in the victory over Newcastle United. However, by the end of his spell, the Portuguese icon threatened to ruin his reputation at the club.

Asked to look back on the decision to re-sign the forward, Solskjaer admitted to The Athletic it was his decision rather than one made by Ed Woodward.
