Man charged with six counts of robbery over supermarket thefts in Rochdale

A man has been charged with six counts of business robbery after a series of thefts at two supermarkets in Rochdale. Both the Morrisons Daily store on Albert Royds Street, and the Asda at Kingsway Retail Park in Rochdale were targeted.

The incidents stretched between November 13 and December 13, and involved a masked man wielding an axe who would enter the store, demanding cash and scratch cards from the till, police say.
