Bayern Munich are no longer able to compete with their European rivals for major signings and are 'planning to become a selling club', according to reports.The club's finances have been hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic, so much so that they're having to completely remodel their modus operandi.After over a decade of fierce spending, which often involved pinching their domestic rivals' top stars, Bayern will now concentrate on signing players aged between 20 and 22, before developing them and selling them on for a large profit a few years later.According to German outlet Kicker, Bayern have now completely abandoned plans to compete for the world's biggest talents, including the likes of Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe - who are both expected to move in the summer.The club, who have won the last nine Bundesliga titles, have reportedly identified 19-year-old Ajax midfielder Ryan Gravenberch as one of their top transfer targets - demonstrating the focus of their new strategy.They will also be relying on their youth system to start churning out players to fill a proportion of their squad over the next few years.Kicker also claim that Bayern are looking to forge partnerships with top division clubs in other European leagues in order for their youngsters to go out on loan and gain valuable experience - which could in turn double-up as a marketing strategy for future sales.Is Bayern Munich's impending decline a 'good thing' for German football?
