A man arrested after a 'violent disturbance' erupted outside a shop in Chorlton has been released under investigation. Police were called to reports of an incident on Mersey Bank Avenue, close to the Mersey Bank Convenience Store, on Saturday, May 9.
A 49-year-old man was taken to hospital with a head injury and has since been discharged. Police arrested a 25-year-old man on suspicion of section 18 assault.
The man has since been released under investigation. Greater Manchester Police continue to investigate the attack which took place in broad daylight at around 8.40am.
Residents in the area said there was a 'huge police presence' in the area on Saturday morning. Forensic officers could be seen searching the area.
