facing trial over claims he battered his dad and tried to strangle him in a Scottish town.Andrew McLaughlin is said to have attacked his father, Raymond McLaughlin, in Renfrew, near Glasgow.Prosecutors claim McLaughlin rained punches on his dad, scratched and bit him on the head and body on May 17 this year.And it's claimed he compressed his neck and restricted his breathing during the alleged attack, which prosecutors say left him injured.McLaughlin, of Renfrew, also faces a second charge of behaving in a threatening or abusive way, in breach of Section 38(1) of the Criminal Justice and Licensing (Scotland) Act 2010.It's alleged he behaved in a way which was likely to cause a reasonable person to suffer fear or alarm, by shouting, making.
