The M25 is closed in both directions following a lorry fire between junctions 6 and 7. Highways England say a truck is has rolled over between the exits for Godstone and the M23.
Pictures show a massive black plume of smoke stretching into the sky from the scene of the crash. CCTV from the scene also shows firefighters dousing the flames with hoses.
In a Tweet Surrey Police warned people to stay in their cars and maintain a 2m distance between others. "Road closure #M25 j6-7 and 7-6.
Due to a large vehicle fire. Remain with your vehicle, keep the 2 meter distance from others. "We are looking to release traffic in the closure and are starting to organise this now." It has not been confirmed if there are any injuries at this stage.
