Love Island axe could 'cost ITV £100million' as bosses pull the plug over virus fears

ITV's decision to pull the plug on the summer series of Love Island could cost the broadcaster around £100m, sources have claimed.

This week it was announced the dating show's second instalment of 2020 would not go ahead as planned due to ongoing concerns about the coronavirus.

Bosses had considered moving the show from Majorca to Cornwall before deciding to cancel it completely. Retail experts predict the decision to withdraw the eight week series from the schedule could set ITV2 back millions in lost advertising.
