Porridge Radio have announced a new album, ‘Clouds In The Sky They Will Always Be There For Me’ and shared its lead single ‘Sick Of The Blues’.The follow-up to 2022’s ‘Waterslide, Diving Board, Ladder To The Sky’ will arrive on October 18 via Secretly Canadian.Per a press release, the Brighton band’s new album “is a coming-of-age moment inspired by burnout, the music industry, heartbreak, and band leader Dana Margolin’s own increasing immersion in her craft as an artist.”“Almost all the songs started out as poems,” Margolin added in the press release. “In a poem, though, you can’t hide.“A lot of this album is about a more frenetic and desperate kind of love. It is about completely losing my sense of self in one relationship, and the deep residue of insecurity and pain that lingered and clouded a new relationship.”Coinciding with the announcement, the band have shared the album’s hopeful yet melancholic lead single and closing track ‘Sick Of The Blues’.“‘Sick Of The Blues’ is about being heartbroken and taking back some joy, remembering that you’re the source of your own happiness, not someone else, even when you’re hurt and left with a hole in your heart,” said frontwoman Dana Margolin about the new track.

Porridge Radio have announced their split and shared their goodbye single ‘Don’t Want To Dance’ from their forthcoming final EP.The Brighton band took to their official X/Twitter account to share ‘Don’t Want To Dance’ and wrote that their upcoming EP ‘Machine Starts To Sing’ – which is set for release on February 21 and available for pre-order here – will mark “the last new music from us as Porridge Radio and marks the end of the band.“The songs on this EP are an important part of Clouds In The Sky They Will Always Be There For Me, and mean as much to us as the 11 songs on the album. We are excited for you to hear them,” they tweeted.They continued: “This band has been our life, we’re family now.

Porridge Radio have announced that a set number of discounted tickets will be set aside for each of their shows, designed to help fans struggling to afford them in the current economic climate.The initiative comes after it was reported that the annual cost of energy bills in the UK is forecast to hit £4,347, following Conservative Prime Minister Liz Truss’ recent U-turn on government support.Posting on the band’s Instagram account, they wrote: “In response to the current cost of living crisis, we’ve decided to set aside 30 tickets per show for our headline UK shows to be discounted for people who have not been able to buy tickets due to financial worries. We hope this makes the shows more accessible to those who want to come.“These tickets will be sold purely on an honour system – we will trust that those who do not need the discount will not use up the limited supply.

Porridge Radio have shared their brand new single ‘End Of Last Year’, which is a love song frontwoman Dana Margolin wrote for the band.The track is taken from the Brighton band’s upcoming third album ‘Waterslide, Diving Board, Ladder To The Sky’ and follows on from singles ‘The Rip’ and ‘Back To The Radio’.Speaking about the song, Margolin said: “‘End Of Last Year’ is a love song for my bandmates and for myself. It’s about not trusting my intuition, not trusting my body to heal itself, not trusting the people closest to me, but it is also an ode to all those people, and to difficult platonic love.“It came out of a particularly painful period of communication breakdown and high pressure that hurt a lot, but ended in reconciliation and understanding.”‘End Of Last Year’ arrives alongside a video directed by Maura Sappilo.

Porridge Radio have announced details of their third album ‘Waterslide, Diving Board, Ladder To The Sky’ and shared its first single ‘Back To The Radio’.The band have also confirmed their biggest-ever UK headline tour alongside a series of intimate in-store shows around the record’s release.‘Back To The Radio’ was written by frontperson Dana Margolin ahead of the release of the group’s acclaimed 2020 album ‘Every Bad’, a time when she felt like “a lot of things were coming that I wasn’t sure I knew how to handle”.“The song grew out of a feeling of intense loneliness and being unprepared for what everybody was promising me was about to happen – and a strong desire to escape without knowing what I wanted to escape to,” she said in a press release. “To me, there’s a huge feeling of catharsis in this song, of letting go and letting it sweep you away.”The song comes with a video directed by Margolin’s sister Ella and finds the singer waking up in a room where papier-mâché furniture is slowly being removed one by one. Later, she joins the rest of Porridge Radio in a room decorated with landscape scenery as people dressed all in black move her around the space.

Black Country, New Road and Porridge Radio are among the artists who are set to perform at the Climate Music Blowout event in London this weekend.The event, which will take place at EartH in Hackney, London on Sunday (October 17), will include a full evening of live music, following a conference where leading UK music industry figures and artists will discuss how music can play a leading role in the response to the climate emergency.Black Country, New Road and Porridge Radio (who will be performing a covers set) will both play on the night on a bill which also includes Skinny Pelembe and Steam Down.

Billy Nomates and Porridge Radio are among a raft of acts announced for the 2021 Visions Festival.The one day London new bands event, which will be held on Saturday, August 7 at The Oval in Hackney, will also see Manchester newcomers Porij, post-punk Leeds quartet Yard Act, Folly Group, Famous, Kai Kwasi, Wu-Lu, caroline, NiNE8 Collective, Flohio, Gaika, Falle Nioke, DJ and producer Grove, Martha Skye Murphy and Keyah/Blu all performing.Further acts will be announced in the coming weeks and tickets are available here.This will be the eighth time the bash has been held, which has in the past seen the likes of IDLES, Young Fathers, Fat White Family and Shame perform.

Biffy Clyro have rescheduled their huge outdoor show in Glasgow for later this year, and changed the venue for the event.The show, originally set for late June in Bellahouston Park, will now take place across the city at Glasgow Green on September 9.As with the original date, support for the show will come from Yungblud, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes and Porridge Radio.“We’ve missed playing for you guys a lot & wish June could happen but alas…” the band wrote on Twitter to announce the rescheduled show.
