What happened to Caroline Calloway and does she still have Instagram?
Instagram “influencers” are two-a-penny these days, but there was one who helped to spark the whole craze. In a bizarre tale, American Caroline Calloway scored hundreds of thousands of followers as she detailed her exploits at Cambridge University before securing a mega six-figure book deal.Even after reneging on the agreement, she went on to arrange creative “workshops”, charging fans $164 (£135) a pop, only not to deliver.A viral long-read penned by her former friend Natalie Beach for New York Magazine’s The Cut sent the internet into overdrive about Caroline's antics in 2019.BBC Three is set to air a documentary tonight (July 29) at 9pm about Beach and her claims that Calloway was involved in ripping off her followers. The programme also examines how Calloway publicly dealt with the aftermath, with input from her “followers” who paid money to attend the non-existent workshops.Born in Virginia to a wealthy family, the 30-year-old first rose to fame as a fairly stereotypical blogger in 2012.The art history student developed a huge Instagram following while at Cambridge from 2013 to 2016, with thanks to friend Natalie Beach who helped write her Insta captions, giving an insight into life as a Yank in the UK.After creating a bulging social media profile with more than 200,000 followers, Caroline managed to snare a book deal. But in 2017 she announced that she would no longer be delivering on the contract to write the book. She reportedly put up the first seven chapters she had written for sale on Etsy instead.Having spent around $100,000 (£82,000) of the publisher’s money, she later ventured onto OnlyFans to make the cash back. But even before that, she created more notoriety by charging $165 for tickets to her creativity

Savage WhatsApp messages that exposed Rebekah Vardy's libel claim in Wagatha hearing
Rebekah Vardy was accused of leaking information from Coleen Rooney’s private Instagram account to the press in October 2019.The WAG, 40, took legal action against Rooney, 36, in May for libel but today, Vardy lost the case at the High Court of Justice in London. In her judgment today, Mrs Justice Steyn wrote: "I have found that Ms Vardy was party to the disclosure to The Sun of the Marriage, Birthday, Halloween, Pyjamas, Car Crash, Gender Selection, Babysitting and Flooded Basement Posts."It is likely that Ms Watt undertook the direct act, in relation to each post, of passing the information to a journalist at The Sun."Nonetheless, the evidence analysed above clearly shows, in my view, that Ms Vardy knew of and condoned this behaviour, actively engaging in it by directing Ms Watt to the Private Instagram Account, sending her screenshots of Ms Rooney’s posts, drawing attention to items of potential interest to the press, and answering additional queries raised by the press via Ms Watt."We look back at nine key exchanges between Rebekah Vardy and her agent Caroline Watt.Giving evidence, Vardy was asked about the so-called ‘Photoshop girl’ conversation with Caroline where they discuss edited photos. An image appears to have been sent to Caroline by Vardy, but the trial heard that, due to issues with uploading Whatsapp data, all the image files have been lost.Vardy says to Watt that the pictures “made her fume” as the editing software Photoshop can make you look “five sizes smaller”.Giving evidence, Vardy said that, when she told Caroline to “leak a story”, she was talking about a report on “body positivity”.The court saw messages between Vardy and Caroline in which they discuss Jamie Vardy’s former Leicester City team mate
