American singer Caroline Polachek has been forced to postpone a sold-out gig in Manchester this evening. The singer, who rose to fame as one-half of indie synth-pop act Chairlift, had been due to take to the stage at the Albert Hall on Wednesday evening (February 15) as part of her latest solo tour.

A second date in Bristol, which was set to take place tomorrow, has also been postponed. The Manchester gig had already been rescheduled from the original date on October 29, 2022, but fans will now have to wait until May to see the singer following a bout of illness. Information on the rescheduled dates will be announced as soon as possible.” In a statement, Polachek, who yesterday released her fourth solo album Desire, I Want to Turn Into You, apologised to fans.

She said: “I’ve been looking forward to these shows for so long, but am heartbroken to be waking up sick today and unable to sing properly. “So in order to make sure I can do the music justice for you, we’re rescheduling Manchester and Bristol for May when I’m back.
