Madonna's close friend Rosie O'Donnell has given an update on the Vogue hitmaker's health after she was rushed to hospital with a bacterial infection last week which saw her admitted to ICU.

Madonna was expected to start the Celebration tour - which is her 12th tour overall but her first ever greatest hits tour, held in celebration of the 40th anniversary of her 1983 breakout single Holiday - on July 15 in Vancouver, Canada. 

Madonna's "Celebration" tour has been postponed after suffering a bacterial infection that landed her in the intensive care unit. Page Six reported that the Material Girl was found unresponsive over the weekend and subsequently rushed to a New York City hospital. There, she was reportedly intubated "for at least one night before having the tube removed."The report noted that the pop star is alert, responding and no longer in the ICU.Madonna's daughter, Lourdes Leon, was by her mom's side throughout the medical incident. Amid speculation, Madonna's manager, Guy Oseary, confirmed the hospitalization but shied away from discussing the alleged intubation. "On Saturday June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which lead to a several day stay in the ICU," he said in an Instagram post.
