Also involved in the controversial reshuffling were Michaela Strachan, Juliet Morris and Miriam O'Reilly, who later achieved victory against the BBC in an employment tribunal.The ruling stated Charlotte had lost her job due to ageism. During the proceedings, Charlotte had testified: "I was told by a member of the team that I would not be able to pass the primetime test because I was not young or pretty." Not long after winning the tribunal it was announced Charlotte would return to Countryfile after five years.

Sean and Matt shared that the episode will be a "rather special one" and the news comes just weeks after Dame Judi opened up about how she had no plans to retire anytime soon. Her decision to continue working comes despite the difficulties she’s having learning lines because of her degenerative eye condition which has left her barely able to see.
