Countryfile fans were left totally bemused within moments of the new episode airing. On Sunday's (September 15) instalment of the hit BBC One programme, presenters Matt Baker and Charlotte Smith ventured into one of Britain's key military training grounds, revealing the special balance between the Ministry of Defence's requirements and the preservation of the land. The dynamic duo were granted exclusive access to Salisbury Plain, a location paramount for UK defence and environmental conservation. The show gave an insight into how the MoD juggles intense military preparation with farming and the care of the environment.
Host Charlotte chatted with Warrant Officer Class 1 Jeff Elson (WO1), delving into his job of overseeing the site, which includes extremely important natural habitats, and even got shown a soldiers' shell scrape a survival pit usually used for protection during temporary overnight stays.

One viewer quipped: "Make your mind up! Do you want or be seen or not? #countryfile". Another chimed in with a mix of humour and disbelief: "Soldier on countryfile wearing camouflage gear under a Hi Vis vest.", reports the Express.
