Liverpool accidentally stumbled on Olympiakos defender Kostas Tsimikas while checking in on loaned-out academy starlet Pedro Chirivella.
The Reds confirmed the Greek’s arrival on a long-term contract own August 10, expected to be a back-up to Andy Robertson. With 46 appearances this season, the 24-year-old helped his side reach the Europa League round-of-16 against Wolves, beating Arsenal on their way there.The full-back is the Premier League champions’ first signing of the summer transfer window.
But Goal have reported that Tsimikas may never have appeared on his new club’s radar if they had not checked on Chirivella.
