First Bus has announced it won’t be deterred from scrapping a rural bus route that Kinross-shire residents have fought to preserve.
Rural bus services, including the X53 service linking Kinross to Stirling, were debated in parliament last Wednesday.Mark Ruskell, Green Party MSP for Mid Scotland and Fife, led the debate for The Members Business Motion – titled ‘Protecting Rural Bus Services’ – which saw MSPs from across the political spectrum come together to discuss what can be done to protect local bus services and prevent service cuts.But news came on Monday that the X53 service will be cut from the timetable from January 10, 2022.Writing to Mark Ruskell MSP, the company First Bus admitted that it does not have enough drivers available
