Leeds bosses fear new manager Jesse Marsch will be taking over a squad that is mentally and physically shattered.Former RB Leipzig and New York Red Bulls boss Marsch is expected to be appointed today as Marcelo Bielsa's replacement.Leeds chairman Andrea Radrizzani sacked Bielsa in the wake of last weekend's 4-0 home thrashing by Tottenham. The news left Leeds fans stunned and distraught, but Radrizzani decided to wield the axe because he thought the Argentine would take the club back into the Championship. And it has emerged that one of the main factors behind Radrizzani's decision was that Bielsa's intense training methods had left his stars too tired to compete in games. It is understood the players became bored of Bielsa's approach, found him too demanding and could no longer cope with what he was asking them to do.Leeds find themselves two points above the drop zone following six games without a win, and have lost their last four matched by an aggregate scoreline of 17-2.Radrizzani, along with his fellow directors, targeted Marsch two years ago and had lined him up to come in this summer, when Bielsa was expected to leave the Yorkshire club. But Leeds have had to bring forward their plans and hope to confirm Marsch's appointment within a matter of hours, provided the necessary paperwork and visa applications get completed.Bielsa, meanwhile, travelled to the club's training ground this morning to say an emotional goodbye to his players and staff and is expected to fly back to Argentina to be reunited with his family..
