Leeds supporters pelted the pitch with rubbish causing a delay to their match against Manchester City. At Elland Road, some of the remnants of the home supports’ banner fell onto the ground, leading to a postponement.
BBC Sport reported: “Play is stopped as Leeds fans throw a load of white, yellow and blue cards onto the pitch. They were given them to spell 'Yorkshire' before kick-off.” The rubbish caused the game against the Citizens to be delayed, with the away side 1-0 up at the time.
And of course, fans reacted online to the delay, with one writing: “Leeds United are losing 1-0 and their fans are wasting time by throwing rubbish on the pitch.”Another said: “Proper dirty these Leeds fans.
