It came after a stunning solo effort by Naby Keita, who took the lead for Liverpool 19 minutes in. That allowed Jurgen Klopp’s side to keep up the pressure on league leaders Manchester City by securing another vital three points.
And it was long-time midfield stalwart Milner, 36, who was crowned the game’s top player after his colossal performance.Milner and full-back Robertson were interviewed together post-match by BT Sport when the former was confirmed Man of the Match.
But the announcement was met with a surprised look by the Scotland captain.Retired England international Milner gave a smirk and raised his eyebrows as he was informed.
