Officers were patrolling the Pendleton and Charlestown areas of Salford on Wednesday (December 8) as part of work being carried out by Greater Manchester Police to combat knife crime.
Officers carried out a knife sweep - as part of efforts into Operation Sycamore - on Whit Lane where the two weapons were located.
