The Rotary Young Chemist of the Year competition took place at the Kirkcudbright Academy recently.Nine S3 competitors took part.
They were asked to find out the vitamin C content in an orange juice and analyse some urine samples.The winners were: 1 Obi Clear, 2 Django Spyer Grubb, 3 Robin McClure.Django Spyer Grubb said: “It was a fun and challenging experience. “It required us to utilise a lot of chemistry skills that we have learnt throughout the past two to three years. “It was a very friendly competition and I would recommend taking part to anyone who enjoys chemistry.”
