Originally established in 1990 by one of Glamour’s former Editor in Chiefs, the visionary Ruth Whitney, at the inception of the awards, the board's purpose was to bring together an exceptional group of women who could share their collective insights and perspectives on the most influential leaders of today and tomorrow.In 2020, Glamour revived this cherished tradition, expanding the board to include a broader array of luminaries. "We come together a couple of times every year, and they help us understand what women we should be looking at, celebrating, and ultimately honoring.
