Queen Elizabeth II's grandchildren paid her a touching tribute on Saturday. Prince Harry and Prince William were decked out in their full military uniforms, at the request of their father, King Charles III, alongside their cousins, standing vigil at their grandmother's coffin in Westminster Hall for 15 minutes of silence.

Fans of Eamonn Holmes said they wanted to give 'him a hug' after he shared a poignant image. The former This Morning presenter has been updating his social media followers this week as he hosted coverage of the Queen's death from outside Buckingham Palace.

Kate Middleton joined the Royal Family to host Commonwealth leaders at a reception at Buckingham Palace on Saturday 17 September afternoon. King Charles III is not a fan of cling film and “shrieked” the first time he saw it, according to author Tom Bower in his book about Prince Philip. In the book, Rebel Prince, based on the late Prince Philip, author Tom Bower shared an anecdote about his eldest son, Charles and his aversion to cling film. The light-hearted story tells of the then prince coming into contact with cling film for the first time and “shrieking” and “trembling”.The late Duke of Edinburgh had a gripe with son Charles, according to the book, that he was disconnected from the regular world and an example of this was shared of the prince’s struggles with cling film.

Queen Elizabeth II's state funeral takes place on Monday, concluding a 10-day mourning period in the UK. Her Majesty, 96, died at Balmoral castle on Thursday (September 8).

Simon Dorante-Day, 56, has claimed to be the son of King Charles III and Camilla Parker Bowles for years and recently paid tribute to the monarch after her passing on September 8. In what was likely to have been a metaphorical comment to paint a picture of a life in the public glare - with chicken wings being a food not befitting of the Queen - Dorante Day made the peculiar remark.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been "uninvited" to a state reception hosted by King Charles III – Harry's father and the new reigning Monarch. It's understood that the couple initially received an invite to a state reception for world leaders and foreign royals tomorrow evening, however, it's reportedly now been revoked.The reason being is said to be due to the fact that Harry, 38, and Meghan, 41, are no longer officially working members of the royal family, after they stepped down in 2020.

The Prince Harry and Meghan Markle drama continued into the weekend as it wasn’t clear if the Sussexes would be attending a pre-funeral reception at Buckingham Palace on the eve of Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral.  The Duke and Duchess of Sussex – who settled in California after stepping down as senior royals in 2020 – reportedly initially received an invitation to the Sunday evening reception, but conflicting reports said they were and weren’t expected to attend.  According to the Telegraph, they have now been uninvited because palace officials insisted that the reception hosted by King Charles III and Camilla, the queen consort, is only for working royals, which Harry and Meghan are not. The last few weeks have been monumental for the UK and have seen communities across the the country - and beyond - band together to remember the life of the longest-reigning British monarch. Queen Elizabeth II died on Thursday September 8 age 96 at her Balmoral residence.

As the nation continues to mourn for The Queen following her death last week, many of us will now be turning out attention towards the funeral, which will be incomparable in scale and grandeur to any funeral we have seen before. While many of us will have seen state funerals in the past, such as after the death of the Queen Mother in 2002 and Princess Diana in 1997, far fewer people will recall the death of the previous Sovereign, King George VI’s funeral which was held in 1952.
