The 36-year-old dictator has been the subject of intense speculation about his health and whereabouts for weeks. Rumours were even swirling that he may be dead.
But on Friday, Kim showed his face for the first time in 20 days as he attended the completion of a fertilizer plant north of Pyongyang.
He grinned as he cut a ribbon to declare the factory officially open. However, eagle-eyed medical experts noticed a dark mark on his wrist as he raised his arm while sat in a golf buggy.
