Kate Ferdinand reveals baby gender – but admits 'bedlam' party didn't go to plan

Kate Ferdinand has revealed that she's having a baby girl. Kate, 31, is currently pregnant with her second child with husband Rio Ferdinand, 44, with the star expected to give birth later this year.

Now the pair have shared that they're having a little girl, but their gender reveal didn't exactly go to plan... Discussing the party on Kate's Blended podcast, Rio recalled: "We all sat down, cameras ready to film it for memories, and then we all take a bite of the first six cupcakes and no one of them has the colour. “So it’s pink or blue, for girl or boy, and we’re all shouting and because everyone is shouting so loud, Cree in the middle just starts hysterically crying." Apparently it was around the time of their son Cree's bedtime.

While the first few cakes proved unsuccessful in confirming their child's gender, Rio's son Lorenz eventually picked the special cake to find that it was pink inside.

The retired footballing star shares three kids with his late wife Rebecca: Lorenz, 16, Tate, 14, and Tia, 11. Apparently Tate and Tia suspected that Lorenz would pick the revealing cupcake as they think the 16 year old is "the favourite".
