Jonathan Ross has fiercely defended Harry Potter author JK Rowling - who is on the receiving end of backlash over a string of "transphobic" tweets.
The 54-year-old famous writer has been slammed after she reacted to an article that referred to "people who menstruate" and proceeded to ask why it didn't specifically address women.
Her comment sparked an immediate backlash, with many declaring Rowling was being transphobic and that gender is different to what is assigned at birth for transgender people.
Meanwhile, Jonathan, 59, jumped in on Sunday night as he backed up the author amid the furious Twitter storm, writing: "@jk_rowling is both right and magnificent. "For those accusing her of transphobia, please read what she wrote.
