Channel 5 has gone against the public mood by claiming drivers who tackled Insulate Britain protesters "committed common assault."Footage from radio station LBC on Monday (4 October) showed frustrated motorists take matters into their own hands by dragging Insulate Britain activists off the roads during protests across London.Emergency service vehicles and other commuters were caught up in the havoc as police appeared to be nowhere to be seen.
But a man called Pete phoned in to The Jeremy Vine Show and condemned the motorists for removing the protesters, demanding they be arrested with Insulate Britain too.Insulate Britain is a protest group whose main aim is to demand "that the UK government promises to fully fund and take responsibility.
