A man has been arrested on suspicion of modern slavery after a dawn raid in Stockport. Police carried out a warrant on Briarfield Road, in the Heaton Chapel area of the district, yesterday morning (October 11).
They arrested a 49-year-old man on suspicion of modern slavery. The suspect is now in custody, police said. Chief Inspector Paul Chadwick, of GMP's Stockport district, said: "Today's arrest is a result of months of diligent investigative work by the team in Stockport and sends a message that criminality won't be tolerated. "
