Jake Scott was a former safety with the Miami Dolphins who was named most valuable player at Super Bowl VII in 1972.Scott played college football at the University of Georgia, where he holds the records for interception return yards and career interceptions.
He was named first team All-SEC defensive back in 1967 and 1968. Scott left Georgia after his sophomore year to play professional football for the Canadian Football Leagues’ BC Lions.
In 1970, he was drafted by Don Shula’s (1930 – 2020) Miami Dolphins. Scott helped the Dolphins to Super Bowls VI, VII, and VIII, winning the latter two.
