Netflix’s latest hit drama series follows an orphaned chess prodigy who battles addiction whilst rising through the ranks.Emma star Anya Taylor-Joy plays the lead in The Queen’s Grambit, brought to the small screen by Scott Frank.The show has gripped viewers and has quickly gained somewhat of a cult following.The series is in fact based on a book of the same name by Walter Tevis – which is bad news for fans wanting a second series.Netflix is yet to confirm a second series, which is hardly surprising as the entire plot is covered in the first drop of episodes.Tevis reportedly based the book’s chess scenes on his own experience as a class C player, and he relied on help National Master Bruce Pandolfini – who also served as a chess consultant.
