Impact Wrestling star Heath takes to the ring on Saturday night at the company's Sacrifice PPV, it will be the end of a long, long journey for the 38-year-old.Just two years ago, at the start of the pandemic, he was released from WWE, having spent more than a decade with the company.Once his no-compete clause with the company ended, he joined Impact Wrestling.But as much as his signing was heralded, he quickly found himself on the sidelines with an injury which would keep him out for almost a year.And it happened just hours after officially signing a long-term contract with the company.He exclusively told the Daily Star this week: “I'm looking good, I'm jacked and I'm feeling good. “And then next thing you know, I got hurt injured – out for a whole damn year.“I'm on my ass, you know, depressed, sad, mad, but you can't let it consume you, because once it does, you know, it's like life, life will beat you up and keep you on the ground if you let it.“You got to get up, you got to fight that.

I get fired, I get a chance. I get hurt. I'm out for a year.“Now, however, I'm feeling good. I'm feeling like I can go, but still in the back of my mind there's worry from the surgery.“I'm not 100 per cent physically or mentally, but like, I feel like my 90% is better than most people's hundreds.“So I think it will be good and all right.“But yeah, the last few years has been a roller coaster of emotions and figuring stuff out and clearing my mind - I feel like I've grown a lot over the past two years.”Heath, known to fans of WWE as Heath Slater, will take on Impact Wrestling's world champion Moose on Saturday, which is West Virginia-native's first major opportunity at a world title in his career.The match is actually a repeat of the one.
