I’ve never worked out with my mum, Jayne, before but given that we’ve not seen each other since Christmas (she lives in West Lancashire and I’m in London), it’s good to have something else to do other than just video-chat.

Still, it feels ridiculous that my 57-year-old mother is so excited to dance around the living room, while I, a sprightly 26-year-old, am dreading it.
