great white shark has been captured after the ocean predator chomped down on a camera.The incredible footage, filmed off the coast of Guadalupe, shows the great white named “Screaming Mimi” approaching a cage with divers inside.It briefly brushes past before swimming directly towards the camera, which is being held in the water by a rod.The apex predator moves around to suss out the device before quickly biting it.
The bite happens in a split second but, slowed down, the camera manages to capture a glimpse into the feared jaws of a great white.Given the viewpoint from the camera, the movement also looks like a full-blooded attack.But the man behind the excursion and video says what actually was going on is far more complex.Martin Graf runs.
