We have all become very familiar with our pyjama collection throughout lockdown. And whether you opt for a nightie, t-shirt and shorts or even a monogramed silk set, it is likely they are not washed enough.

So how often should you be washing your nightwear? Fashion Marketing expert Harpa Gretarsdóttir, from Icelandic wool clothing brand Icewear, recommended pyjamas should be washed every three to four days.

However, for those that shower or bathe before bed, this can be extended to five to seven days maximum. Harpa revealed that pyjamas are the only intimate clothing that we ‘wear multiple times as standard’ but nasty bacteria can accumulate in the bed if they are not washed frequently.
