Horse racing icon Frankie Dettori explains plan to continue racing... to save marriage

Legendary jockey Frankie Dettori has joked he will keep on riding horses for as long as he can in order to ensure his marriage is a happy one.

Dettori's first win came at the age of 16 in Turin in November 1986, while in 1990, he became the first teenager since Lester Piggott to ride 100 winners in one season.

By the end of the 2017 season, the avid Arsenal supporter had ridden more than 3,000 winners in Great Britain, over 750 more than the next currently active jockey.

A personal-best total of 19 Group One winners in 2019 confirmed the popular Italian – who recently turned 49 – remains one of the best in the business, despite being in the twilight of his glittering career.
