Soups that are made using the flesh of deadly spitting cobras are considered a rare delicacy - but preparing it turned out to be a fatal move for one chef.
Peng Fan, from South China, was proud to have the dish featured on his menu and was preparing the meal for diners when an unusual tragedy occurred.
Having chopped off the head of the Indochinese Spitting Cobra, he spent 20 minutes creating the soup, then he proceeded to tidy the kitchen.
He picked up the snake head to throw in the bin when suddenly, it bit him. The Daily Star reports that the venom from spitting cobras can be particularly nasty.
